Renewals, Auto-Renew & Cancellations

How renewal dates, monthly vs annual billing, and cancellations work.

Quick Answer

Set a start date and DREAM projects the next renewal automatically. Cancelling keeps the licence counted until its current term ends, then drops it from your spend.

DREAM tracks renewals without you re-entering dates every year.

Auto-renew vs fixed-term

Leave auto-renew on (the default) and set a start date — the next renewal is computed forward from that anniversary. Turn auto-renew off for a fixed-term contract and set its end date instead.

Monthly vs annual

Choose the billing period that matches the contract. Monthly contracts have no fixed renewal date — they roll continuously — while annual contracts renew on their anniversary. Either way, spend is rolled up to an annual figure for forecasting.

Cancelling

Click Cancel on a title (or a single per-person seat) and it keeps counting toward spend until the end of the current paid term, then drops off — so your forecast reflects what you will actually pay.

💡 Tip: Watch the Software expiring — next 90 days tile on the dashboard to catch renewals while you still have time to renegotiate or cancel.
