Hierarchical structure
Cost centres support infinite depth. Create a top-level "Engineering" centre with nested "Software" and "Hardware" divisions underneath — as many levels as your org requires.
Cascading assignments
Cost centres cascade. When you assign an asset to a Person or Location, it's automatically charged to that person or location's default cost centre. You only need to manually set a cost centre on an asset when it's an exception to the rule.
⚠️ Important: If you reassign an asset to a different person or location, its effective cost centre updates automatically to match the new assignment.
