Importing Vehicles via CSV
Bulk import your fleet using the vehicle-specific CSV wizard. Includes VIN, plate, registration, powertrain, and per-row Status, Assignment, Vendor, and Cost Centre.
Quick Answer
From Vehicles, click Import CSV. Upload your file, map your columns, set per-row settings, and submit.
The vehicle import works like the asset import but with vehicle-specific columns. Enable CSV import in Settings → CSV Import first — the button only appears for admins and editors.
Mappable fields
Any of these can be mapped from your CSV columns:
- —Make, Model, Year, Colour
- —VIN (the vehicle serial number), Unit ID, Licence Plate
- —Registration Province, Registration Expiry
- —Purchase Price, Purchase Date, In-Service Date
- —Lifecycle (time), Lifecycle (odometer), Current Odometer, Notes
Per-row settings
A few fields aren't mapped from CSV columns — instead they have per-row dropdowns at the map step (with "Set all on this page" bulk-apply at the column header):
- —Powertrain — Gasoline, Diesel, Hybrid, Battery Electric, or Trailer
- —Status — In Service or Inventory
- —Assignment — Person or Location
- —Vendor and Cost Centre
⚠️ Important: Maintenance schedules are not assigned during import. After importing your vehicles, use the Apply Maintenance Schedule bulk action on the Vehicles list to attach a template to all (or some) of them in one step.
💡 Tip: The CSV import has "Remove (hide)" per-column to declutter wide CSVs. If your spreadsheet has 20 columns and you only need 6 of them, you can hide the rest while you work.
